The Sunflower's Hot 20 Playlist For October 08
Beauchamp Music Students from Beauchamp College along with the support of local artists from across Oadby and Wigston, turned out to raise cash for the British Red Cross to help aid victims from natural disasters in China and Burma. On September 26th, Beauchamp college’s very own “Battle of the Bands” commenced from 6pm – 9pm, with free entry to the public and a first prize cash sum of £250! Student Governor of Beauchamp College, Gareth John said “the passion and commitment of the students to the Red Cross appeal was delightful!”. Open Mic & Rehearsal Local musicians from across the Sunflower region are being given the chance to listen and play their own songs at a series of 'Open Mic Nights' being held at 'The Turkey Cafe' on Granby Street in Leicester every Tuesday between 9pm till 1am or 'The Shakespeare’s Head' in Leicester every Wednesday between 8pm till midnight. Also if you are part of a local band and looking for somewhere to play there is a 'Young Band All-Dayer' until December 31st available for up to six local young bands to play live music every Saturday from 2pm – 7pm at “The Attik” on Free Lane in Leicester.
